Mission: The mission of Virginia Tribal Education Consortium is to build the leadership capacity of documented Tribal Nations in Virginia by serving as the Tribal Education Agency to support academic excellence, cultural awareness, and historical accuracy.
Vision: Virginia Tribal Education Consortium is committed to the facilitation of accurate Virginia Indian history, sovereignty, self-determination, and educational opportunities.
The Virginia Tribal Education Consortium, Inc. (VTEC) represents the seven federally recognized sovereign tribes of Virginia:

Member Tribes: Chickahominy Indian Tribe, Chickahominy Indian Tribe - Eastern Division (Nations), Monacan Indian Nation, Nansemond Indian Nation, Upper Mattaponi Indian Tribe, Pamunkey Indian Tribe, and The Rappahannock Indian Tribe.
The Virginia Tribal Education Consortium in the years since its founding has, through its tribal citizens, supports and is governed under the seven federally recognized sovereign tribes principle of constituted authority dedicated to the empowerment, betterment and ultimate success of Native youth and Tribal citizens, in Virginia by helping to facilitate educational opportunities, career training, and ensuring accessibility to accurate historical information on Virginia Indians.

Our Partners: We are currently partnering with the Secretary of Education/Governor’s Office, Virginia Dept of Education, Superintendent of Public Instruction, Universities and Colleges, and Educators across the Commonwealth of Virginia.

ByLaws
The Amended and Restated Constitution and Bylaws that follow, adopted by the Board, define the constituent elements of Virginia Tribal Education Consortium, Inc. and provide the necessary legislation for its governing, the election of its officers and Board of Directors, and its administration.
